Recent developments at London Ability have provided a great new opportunities for David, who was formerly employed as a gardening assistant for the Weedbusters gardening team, to progress into a new role.
With the opening of our new facility at Ellingham Road, David has now developed into a more wide ranging role within I Can Ventures Day Opportunities as a cleaning assistant, with additional catering and peer support responsibilities.
This change of direction has proven to of benefit to both David and our service. He is actively involved with London Ability operations, cleaning, assisting in our café, and supporting our clients in their enterprise activity areas as required. David’s role will be to oversee the cleaning and good housekeeping in our new centre. He is also developing his skills in peer supporting our clients, both onsite and in the community and takes this responsibility very seriously: “I love my job. I love the variety, working with the staff team and with the clients. I also love working with Brenda in the Kitchen and serving customers, making cups of tea. I am very happy!”
David’s Manager, Rosemary Clark feels that David has settled into his new role really well: “His standards of cleaning are high, and he has a positive “can do” attitude to any task he is set. David is enthusiastic, friendly well-liked by all the clients. He has been asset to the Cook in our café during busy periods, and also when assisting with offsite catering functions.”
